Nyla rolled over belly to back at 5 weeks old.

Nyla rolled over back to belly at 6 weeks old.

Nyla discovered her voice and screeched at the top of her lungs every 30 seconds for a few days at 3.5 months. She also fits into the fun onsie aunt michelle got her in Vegas!

Nyla cut her first tooth at 4 months (my poor attempt at filming it...it still eludes me)

Nyla started eating formula and rice cereal at 4 months, 2 weeks, she LOOOOOVES food.

Nyla started making raspberries at 4.5 months

Nyla dances ALL THE TIME in her vibrating chair!

Nyla crawled at 5 months and one day!!

Nyla Isabella Schmieder was born on 2/2/10 at 6:44pm She weighs 7.o2lbs and is 19 1/4 in length. Both mother and daughter are doing great. No complications in the c section and her bp remained at reasonable levels. I finally got Jocelyn to go to sleep but she wanted me to update everyone

Labor

Inductions suck. Plain and simple.

I went to my 8:15 appointment and before we finished the NST the midwife stopped me and told me to get a bag and head to the hospital. I asked why, she said having a 160/118 blood pressure was unacceptable.

We got here around 11. I was refusing to believe that I was having a baby and assumed that I would be going home in a few hours, just like every other trip.

UPDATE: 3PM Doctor confirms they are going to induce my labor, she is not ok with my labs and BP rate, already naturally contracting mild every 4- 5 minutes since this am.

UPDATE:4PM Started 1st round of cytotec... we are "starting from scratch" mild contractions

UPDATE: 8PM No progress- starting 2nd round of cytotec. more severe contractions

UDATE: 12:30 AM - we got to 1.... baby progress- Starting 3rd round of cytotec. Gave Joc Ambien and she passed out, no idea how contractions were, she was out cold.

UPDATE :5:00 AM- still at 1- now 30% effaced, starting pitocin (6 drips an hour) Contractions are irregular and managable.

UPDATE: 6:00 AM- More pitocin, still no progress

UPDATE: 9:00 AM- Stopped Pitocin, no progress, cervix retracting

UPDATE 11:30 AM- tried 2 other methods of dilation- no progress- jocelyn's cervix does not want to cooperate.

UPDATE 12:30 PM- we have the OR booked at 6pm for her c-section unless by some miracle her body gets the memo that after 25.5 hours of contractions it is supposed to react.

UPDATE 3:15 PM- still no progression, no change. Nurse just shaved the belly, looks like c-section is happening at 6:00 or so.

It is my one month anniversary of bed rest.... I'll take any reason to celebrate at this point! We are off for another ultrasound soon, can not wait to see our little lady!

36 Weeks!!

WE MADE IT ANOTHER WEEK!!!!

I am beyond thrilled, we are one week from Nyla being to term, and every day that she is able to stay in my stomach makes me feel more confident she is strong enough to come out of it!! I count every day now as a blessing, and I really have to say I appreciate how hard all my doctors are working with me to help me keep her cooking until she is ready!

We are officially in month nine!!! Nyla is my little watermelon, little not being the correct adjective, but I am using it none-the-less. She is finalizing her lungs and brain, and all her bones are solid, sturdy and ready for the big game! She is practicing blinking, breathing and sucking and is depositing fat at this point, so our little chunky monkey may come out full of adorable little dimples.

I think this is the happiest I have been in a really long time. Below is possibly the last update of Nyla as produce, I can not believe we are almost at the end!

Another Week, Another Hospital Visit....

The title of this post says it all, only this time they think the elevated blood pressure was just an anxiety attack. I was supposed to go to the Dr. at 6:30 to discuss when we were going to be inducing me... apparently it got to me. At 2:00 I started feeling funny, and it just got worse. Finally I checked my blood pressure:

I called, went into the office, by the time I was sent to the hospital it was 160/102. I got to the hospital, started to relax, Mike came a gave me a big hug and told me that trip #3 was going to be uneventful and that the only way we were going to go home and not have a baby was if I calmed down. Here is Mike trying to make me laugh about trip #3:

We watched comedy central and while they ran my labs my BP dropped back down to normal. The doctor called them "Beautiful Levels"

This made me very happy.

As soon as we started talking to the doctor, however, about how this can not happen again because next time I am going to have a baby, it shot back up to 138/100.... this is when she said it was definitely stress related and told me to go home, relax, and sleep.

We have a follow up on Monday morning at 8:15, and we are taking it from there. The doctor is also going to try to jump-start things naturally, and told us ways that we can try to naturally create progress so that I can work towards my other goal, NOT having a c-section. So much for addressing one thing at at time. Regardless, I am so happy that I was able to wait it out another week,

now lets see if I can make it to 37 ;-)

Acceptance

So now that I have had a chance to process I am trying to see the positive of Nyla coming this week.

1- It is the best thing to do for both of us healthwise

2- Chinese New Year starts at the end of January leaves me a whole month that China will not be emailing me and so I can focus on adjusting to being a mom.

3- The pro-bowl is this weekend, who cares about the pro bowl anyways!?!?!

4- I will finally get to hold her.

5- I will be able to see my toes again.

6- I am able to take awesome BP meds as of this afternoon because they are no longer concerned about them masking Pre-E, so I am going to start to physically feel a little better.

7- I can have some say/control in the situation, and anyone who knows me knows i love to plan EVERYTHING.

8- They initially told me I would be lucky to make it to 32 weeks, I made it to 36, take that doctors!!!!

9- No matter what happens I have an amazing support system of family and friends who will be there for me to help me through whatever the future holds.

I think I am ok with this.

I just got back from an appointment with my specialist, and she told me what I already knew she was going to say. Her professional recommendation is to have Nyla delivered by the end of the week.

35 week Ultrasound

This week we did not get a growth ultrasound (boo) but we did get a doppler and Biophysical Profile and some pictures (yay)

It was so cool, we got to watch Nyla practice breathing, and her lungs were really strong, which makes me feel so much better in the even that she does come sooner than I would like. Apparently she looked perfect, and with the help of some food, grape soda and ice water we were able to get her to move her feet and one of her hands out of her face!

We had the same awesome tech as last time, and she really put the effort in to get us a good shot! We also found out she has a house in Midway 5 blocks from us, so she said we are going to have to come by and let her see what Nyla looks like on the outside!

35 weeks!!

Woooo Hoooo!

We made it to 35 weeks, the last week in month 8!!! Considering that just 2 weeks ago we were having concerns that Nyla would be here by now, I am so happy to say that she is still staying put!

We went to the doctors appointment yesterday, and Nyla still looks absolutely perfect on the monitors. Me... eh... my BP was a little high (170/90) so they had me hang for a few hours and let me go home and back to bedrest when it hit 138/90.

I had a major happy day though, I reached a GREAT compromise with my doctors! They wanted to induce me next week (January 27th) and I had a lot of concerns about her still being pre-term. The doctors and I came to the agreement that unless my BP jumps up to a point where it is high and sustained (not just a random emotional spike) I can sit and bake this baby until AT LEAST 38 weeks!!!

Now don't get me wrong, I am over bedrest, being uncomfortable, all that, but to know that she can stay in there until she is ready seems to make it all better!!!

Tomorrow we have another ultrasound, and a follow up with the doctors to check my bloodwork and BP levels. Basically from now on I am living part time in bed and part time at my doctors office.

PS...... the produce this week is still a honeydew, just a fatter one...

Unfortunately, because of my bedrest we are officially going to have to postpone my baby shower. I kind of bummed, but excited because we are going to have a "meet the baby" shower :)

I am going to try getting ahold of everyone via email and I thought it could not hurt to post it here as well. We will be sending out info on the new date once Nyla makes her debut :)

So now that the fun ultrasound pictures are uploaded (the best part of the day) I can bitch about last night/this morning (the worst part of the day) For no apparent reason yesterday, my blood pressure spiked up again, and we were off to the hospital. When I checked in I was at a lovely 158/106. I was not pleased. After a few hours, it gradually came back down, and I was told the same as before, BEDREST BEDREST BEDREST. The doctor also told me that she wants Nyla to make her debut January 27th. I might have a January baby, and January is almost over... I am nervous for her to come out so soon, but so excited to finally get to hold her! I just hope these trips to the hospital do not become a weekly thing...

34 Week Ultrasound

Well, she is a confirmed fatty! Nyla is a whopping 5 lbs 14 oz already! We got to see her chubby little fingers and toes in 3D, but as usual she had her hands in her face the whole time. She did, however, change it up a little and bring her foot into the mix. We also saw on the ultrasound that she already has a bunch of hair! Looks like she is going to come out with a head full of it!!! Here is a shot of her hands and foot:

34 Weeks!

Week 34, we are getting down to the wire now.... all that keeps running through my head is that terrible song by Europe The Final Countdown...

with my blood pressure/bed rest issues, it is terrifying to think that according to the doctor at an point from now on she could be coming.... at this point we are getting to the end of the 8th month, all Nya's vital organs are in tact and finalizing, and she is getting squished because she is getting FAT. We have an ultrasound tomorrow so we will see just how much weight she has gained in the last 2 weeks :) According to Baby Center and the Bump she is a large cantaloupe, average is 4.5 lbs, but we know she has already cruised past that milestone, so the picture below is purely for the sake of a picture.

I was feeling a little down in the dumps yesterday about the whole bedrest thing and having a minor pity party because I am missing out on some things that Mike and I were planning on doing "before the baby gets here" Well my mom and nick stopped by and gave me a great surprise! Just in case the baby shower becomes a "meet the baby" shower because of the bedrest they gave me a mini-shower :) It was a great afternoon. (forgive me bedridden appearance and the fact I kept crying) Mom got all the stuff I was stressing over because we really needed to get before baby, but I was stuck in bed! I feel so much more prepared.... I think we can have a baby now.

33 weeks!

Well, 33 weeks is bittersweet for me. I am excited to get through another week, but this morning I discovered that I have, in fact, developed quite a few stretch marks... That was the one thing that I really still had going for me, I was proud of my flawless (be it hairy) belly, and it is no more. They seriously showed up out of NOWHERE! I guess all the cocoa butter and stretch oil in the world can not trump genetics.

This week the baby is the size of a pineapple, though according to all the websites she should only be a little over 4lbs, and we know that aint the case with this one :) She is approximately 17 inches long, and gaining about 1/2 lb a week going forward!

Smile Sweetheart, You Are NOT Having a Baby Today!

We made our 1st trip to labor & delivery yesterday, luckily we came home empty handed. I went in for my follow up appointment and while all my labs came back fine, my BP was still spiking so they sent me over to the hospital. I have to say it was kind of strange being in the room, seeing all the equipment and it freaked me out a little (no wonder the BP would not go down)

They monitored me, took more samples, and about 5 hours later sent me on my merry way. The nurse could tell I was getting anxious (i had not had anything to eat or drink since 9pm the night before and it was after 5pm at this point) and she just looked at me and said, "Smile sweetheart, you are not having a baby today!" So true. I want her to come, but not this soon!

Anyways, I am now on bedrest for the week, we will see what happens at my appointment on Monday. The great news- Nyla is doing wonderfully and everything with her is perfect, it is just me that is the problem!!!!

What a way to ring in the new year.

today started great, we had an ultrasound, and Chris came with us, which was awesome. Unfortunately no good pictures came out,

she is too big to get a good shot now!

We found out that my little chubster is already 4lbs 15oz, a full pound above average! She is measuring 33 weeks 5 days, and the doctor even mentioned that she may be a Valentines baby! Her heartrate was 144, and everything looked good. Then I went to the normal doctors appointment and it went downhill.

My blood pressure is elevating, and there were traces of protein in my urine :( Also my swelling is a little bit of a concern, and my uterus is measuring at 36 weeks (I am only 32) anyways, I am being transfered from my midwife to a "real" OB, and I am on bedrest until my appointment Monday am. I am monitoring my bp, and basically if it spikes I have to go directly to Labor & Delivery for a C-section. Looks like Nyla may be joining us sooner than we thought. I am just going to stay in bed and hope that nothing has elevated on Monday.

32 weeks!

We are almost to term!!!

5 weeks left until the baby is considered full term, 8 weeks until my due date!! OMG I am so excited, nervous, stressed, anxious.... just about every emotion possible is flying out of me right now. According to the ticker above I am going to be gaining a pound a week from now on, half of that goes straight to Nyla as she grows her baby chub. I already joined a postpartum weight loss support group.... we are all due in February, so it will be nice to have a group to work with that is going through the exact same things I am! I have now gained 27lbs... yikes.

Nyla now has fingernails, toenails, and real hair. I am assuming she is going to come out with ahead full of it because I have the WORST heartburn and everyone tells the old wives tale about heartburn=hair. Knowing her parents, I would not be surprised if she pops out covered in hair and needing to shave her legs & armpits.

I have no idea what a jicama is, but apparently that is the approximate size of Nyla right now, a large jicama.

So we can scratch another 3 items off our before baby preparation list, and I am super stoked about this one. We finally ordered our carseat and stroller, and because of a special they were running we got and extra base free ($90) and a $100 mail-in rebate!!! Now that we have a car seat ordered I feel 300x's better prepared, that was the one thing I was nervous about! Thank you to Grandpa Fotiadis for your generous xmas gifts, it really helped us out with this one!!!

31 Weeks!

I am now 8 months pregnant... and I feel every bit of it.

I am ALMOST to the point where I am totally over pregnancy, usually this comes when I am trying to roll over, sit up, or walk gracefully from one side of the room to the other.... I have also developed a 3 point turning system for rolling over in bed, Mike calls it my k turn.

I have also realized that I pee so often, that we are going through toilet paper almost 3x's as fast, and our water bill has gone up.... another unexpected side effect of the awesomeness that is pregnancy.

Mike and I were talking last night and we realized maybe it is time to go out and buy some stuff.... like diapers, wipes, some of the things we just kept putting off because "we have time" In the beginning the doctors warned me that I may not make it past 34 weeks because of my blood pressure, which is only 3 weeks away, but I still have the gut feeling that if this kid is anything like her mother she is staying put until March just to prove everyone wrong.

Nyla is experiencing her final hardcore growth spurt this month, she can turn her head, recognize music and voices, and her pupils can dilate from light. For the time being she is my little honeydew..... my adorable, kicking, swimming, somersaulting, heavy honeydew.

30 Weeks!!!!

OMG! I can not believe we are at 30 weeks, the last in my 7th month!

I have to say that I can feel the downward spiral starting.... I have the pregnant waddle now all the time, I get tired very easily (but can not sleep) and my equilibrium is way off! I went to bend over to put my boots on the other day and nearly fell on my face!

If all is according to schedule, Nyla should be weighing in just over 3lbs this week, and let me tell you I can feel every one of them. For those interested, we set up a baby guessing game for fun to guess the weight, length and birthday. The link to the game in on the right sidebar!

So we are officially 10 weeks until my due date, 7 weeks until I reach "full term", and 5 weeks from when the doctor first predicted I would give birth based on underlying medical conditions (we showed those doctors! she is as stubborn as her mom already) I have a sneaking suspicion because of this, she will most likely go overdue! This week Nyla is being compared to one big 'ol cabbage, makes me want corned beef... Mmmmmmmmm

Belly Button Watch 2009

We are almost to the end of 2009... so with that I am updating the belly button watch. I still think it has a fighting chance of remaining through the pregnancy, though Mike thinks inevitably some time in January it will pop.... Right now it only looks like a belly button when she is not leaning on it. When she leans on it, it HURTS and gets totally flat on the bottom, while the top totally sticks out. So strange. Here is the comparison from week 1 to week 11..... what a difference a trimester(and a tan) makes!

Wow, I have been so busy this week, almost forgot to post. Work is kicking my butt lately!

We hit 29 weeks on Wednesday, and Nyla is as active as ever. She is just a kicking and tumbling machine. She especially likes to sit nice and low, making sitting comfortably almost impossible! I am starting the kick counting which basically means once a day I take a time when she is really active and count her kicks/movements over the course of an hour. Ten or more we are good to go, less than ten, I call the doctor and we get her heart rate checked out.

At 29 weeks we are a full sized butternut squash weighing in at an impressive 2.5 to 3lbs and a little over 15 inches from head to heel. She will still grow about another 5 inches in length before I hand her the eviction notice in February.

Fun fact, this trimester the baby is taking 250MG of calcium a day from me to deposit and help strengthen her bones for her departure.

She is 2lbs 11oz, her heart rate is 141, and she is measuring 3 days ahead of schedule.... my belly is measuring a week ahead of schedule.

She actually let us see her this time! I think she behaved because my mom was there this time and she was looking to impress... enjoy!

28 Weeks!

We made it to 28 weeks, and we have so much going on this week!

I swear I can still remember when I was typing 8 weeks! We are officially in the christmas season, my favorite time of year, and this year Mike even let me decorate the house early!

This week we have our last monthly doctor visit, and we start going every 2 weeks, plus we get to see Nyla again tomorrow!

This week she is already moving around like CRAZY, and you can totally see when she kicks my belly! This week she weighs around 2.25 lbs and is 15 inches long!

The produce of choice this week is a Chinese cabbage.

She is blinking, and already has eyelashes (hopefully she inherits those from her father) that we may see flutter at the ultrasound tomorrow!

According to babycentre I am going to gain about

11 lbs in the next 4 weeks

This weekend I got a call from a nurse saying my

sugar levels/iron levels were fine.

This morning I got a call and they "took it back"

Apparently, as far as sugar levels, most classify "normal" as 65 to 140 points. My doctor classifies 65 to 135 as normal. I was at a 137. I have to take a 5 HOUR test tomorrow. I have to fast all night, and I am already miserable. Booooooooooo.......

maybe I will be blogging from the Dr.s office tomorrow to kill time,

and I am bringing a pillow to sit on.

The Final Stretch

Welcome to the third trimester!

I am officially in the third trimester as of today! I am 27 weeks pregnant and I feel every bit of it!

This week marks a lot of milestones, I am in my 7th month, third trimester, 10 weeks to full term, 13 weeks until my due date, and Mike turns the big 3-0 on Friday!

Baby center says she is opening and closing her eyes, sucking her thumb, her brain is super active and she can even get the hiccups! For the duration of month seven, and Nyla is officially our little squash, and this week she is a head of yummy cauliflower!

Glucose Test.... Round 2!

So went for my second glucose test this afternoon, and got an unpleasant surprise... it was a

3 HOUR LONG TEST.

Luckily I brought along my work, laptop and wireless air-card, but this was not fun.

I was starving too, because they told me I could not eat for 12 hours before. The lack of food and beverages (other than the nasty orange syrup drink) combined with my history for not dealing well with blood being drawn lead to me me passing out 2 of the 3 times they took blood, making the process even more miserable.

Also, the chairs in the doctor's office need a serious upgrade. My butt is killing me. They should have a special seating area for woman doing this test, it is just cruel to make us sit in hard, tiny, uncomfortable chairs.

Mike refers to it as an alien moment, so we are going with that.

Anywho, I just had my first "alien" moment with Nyla. I was laying in bed and she is kicking up a storm, and I put my hand on my belly... she kicked it, HARD, so I pushed back (probably not something you are supposed to do , but I did) Then I lifted my hand up, and I SAW her kick me. My skin totally moved. It was like in space balls when the alien pokes out of the guys stomach, only I thought it was awesome instead of ridiculous. Had to share.

26 weeks!

26 weeks pregnant! This is the last week of my 2nd trimester and of month six! Time really does fly. I swear one minute I feel completely ready to be a mom, then the next minute I have a total panic attack. I also found out I have to re-do my glucose test, BOO. A little about baby, her eyes are completely developed, though still sealed shut, and she can register different sounds and light. Apparently Mike should start talking to the belly more, because some studies show the baby gets a familiarity with our voices starting in the 6th/7th months.

This week Nyla is the length of an english cucumber

(about 14 inches from head to toes)

and she is at the large scale of the eggplant (around 2 lbs!)

100 Days

I officially have 100 days left in my pregnancy.

That seems like so little time!

I remember vaguely college our 100 days party, I think it was at a bar, I can assure you we all got hammered, had a blast and ate crappy Manga's pizza at 2am dipped in bleu cheese like it was the best thing in the world.

I feel like I should celebrate this milestone too... but how to celebrate? Rather that pissing away money (literally) like past celebrations at the bar, I think I am going to treat myself to some shopping... which will probably lead to me buying something for Nyla, not myself, because that is all I seem to be wanting to shop for lately!

I googled 100 days party looking for some sort of cute graphic to add to the post, what I got was so much better...

We are at week 6 of the belly button watch. It is starting to hurt a little, I supposed I am lucky though that it is still a distinctive belly button! I still think that I will retain some sort of inny (sp?), while Mike is convinced it is going to pop!

25 Weeks!!!

So I am a day late, yesterday was a bit hectic with work and whatnot, but I am officially 25 weeks!!! I am rounding out the 2nd trimester already!!! Depending on what website i look at, some even say I start the 3rd tri this week while others say it is not until week 28! Either way it is so exciting! This week she is starting to grow her baby fat, and over the next few weeks she will more than double in weight! Amazing, but according to everything I have read, I also can gain up to a pound a week from now on!!!

Thanks to babycenter, we are back on the produce! This week the baby is a large rutabaga. I can honestly say I do not think I have ever seen one in person. Is a rutabaga considered produce?

24 Week Ultrasound

Mike and I just got back from the ultrasound... she looks amazing :):)

Nyla WOULD NOT cooperate with the 3D, she kept putting her hands and the umbilical cord in her face, so no shots this time, but her blood flow is good which is always the main concern. They did a growth and doppler, and she is right on target! She is 1lb 8oz, and really looks like a baby now. My placenta is normal, and she is head down, and we are good to go. Here are the few shots we got from the tech, she was all business so we did not get a ton of pictures...

24 weeks

Holy Cow.

So I am 24 weeks pregnant, in my 6th month, and I have about 16 weeks to go!!! According to websites, I now have a football inside of me. I can feel it too. So good news, I passed my glucose test, I am still in the normal range on Blood Pressure and OFF medications! My highest spike was 150/100, and it dropped as soon as I calmed down (I was having a stressful day) Tomorrow we get another growth/doppler scan, I hope we get more pictures!!! Mike was so cute when I reminded him this morning, he just looked at me and was like, "we get to see cloud champion!" I love him. We are still at a large papaya in the fruit department, but here is the football courtesy of My Boys Can Swim.

23 Weeks!

So we are at 23 weeks already. How exciting! I have only 17 weeks to go! I am officially in month six, and reality is creeping up on me. I know I have a lot of time to go, but with the holidays coming I feel like time is going to fly by! I mean we are in week 9 of the NFL season already!!! As I said last week, from now on we get a monthly average fruit- but I got this off another gem of a pregnancy website. It looks like another mango but states the baby is now over a pound, and approximately eleven inches long. That is a lot of baby.

I have actually felt her kick a few times from the outside, but so far Mike only caught one kick, at the end, and he wasn't even sure if he felt it. Soon enough. I must say it helps me to not worry as much because she moves so much now that it makes me stress less over, "is she ok?" Anything moving that much is juuuuuuust fine.

I can not believe how close I am to the 3rd trimester already!!!

So today I went to the Dr. because I felt like poo, and she wanted to follow up on a few things from our last visit. As I was getting ready to leave, she springs on me, "while you are here, do you have like and hour or so to kill?" I said I guess, thinking she wanted to monitor me or something, and she went on to tell me that because I had not eaten anything, and I was due anyways, it was the perfect time for me to take my 1 hour glucose test.....

Basically you drink this crappy super sweet orange drink (you have to finish it in 5 minutes, I just plugged my nose and gulped it down) and then you sit around for an hour and they draw your blood. I was trapped at the OB's office (you can not leave) with nothing to read except for those crappy free pregnancy magazines that are just full of advertisements for things you don't need. Let's just hope I pass this one, if not I have to take a 3 hour test, which would totally suck. I find out the results sometime next week.

22 weeks

Yay... I am having a hard time getting pumped up for 22 weeks, mainly because i feel totally crappy today. On a good note I got to hear her heartbeat for a while today, it was a solid 152. From now on, we only get a monthly fruit, and I am confused because some charts say I am entering month 6, others say month 5. Either way, this month Nyla is a fat Papaya.

Lets Go Buffalo!

Nyla is officially a Bills baby. I swear it is all Michelle's fault, she decided if the Jets won, she was doomed to be a Jets baby like her dad, but if the Bills won, she would begin the torturous journey of being a Buffalo fan. Go Bills. It was cold, but the rain held off, and the game was terrible, but in the end the bills pulled off an upset! I will update with pictures shortly, my camera died and is charging so I can not upload pics. Here is a crappy cell phone shot of our seats:

21 weeks!!

Today I am 21 weeks pregnant (or 19 weeks to go) Counting down is really exciting, and yet completely terrifying. I feel like time has FLOWN by! This week we start measuring from head to heel vs. the past measurements which were crown to rump (aka. head to butt). This week we have a BIG banana!!

Is it bad that I am already starting to get impatient? I know I signed up for 40 weeks, but I am getting anxious to meet her!

I finished the paintings I made for decorating the nursery! I got the bedding in the mail today, and I am so excited to start decorating! The top three are based on the bedding that I bought, and the letters are the deal of the century from Walmart. The plain wooden letters were only $1.97 a piece!!

Week 2 Observations:

I am getting pale... stupid fall.... belly got rounder, and the cavernous quality of the belly button is slowly disappearing before my very eyes. I am going to keep posting these until my vain self develops a shit ton of stretch marks and hides the belly in shame.

We're Halfway There.......

We are at 20 weeks!!!! This is the halfway point, and we are going to put the whole preparation thing into gear! This week the baby is a nice round cantaloupe and I can really tell! While the kicks are definitely there, they are not too often, and unfortunately Mookie has yet to feel one from the outside. We know she is moving, and I can feel her wiggling around all the time, but we are hoping he gets to feel her soon! And now, Nyla in produce....

I was also astonished at the redonculous (it is a word I swear) transformation the belly has made thus far, and I know we are only halfway there. I looked down the other day and it just shocks me!

Wow, this week really crawled by... up until now time was FLYING. This is going to be a memorable week though, we get to find out the sex and see Baby Schmieder again in 6 days!!!!

Also, if you are not an avid consumer of the mango, a more practical assessment is that the baby is the size of a fully loaded 6-inch roast beef sun from Subway... MMmmmmmmm

So while sleeping is getting harder and harder , I honestly do feel like I have more energy than I have in months!!! The back pain sucks too, but at least I am learning how to limit that by avoiding standing too long, hunching over, etc. Our next adventure... figuring out how the heck to find some parenting/childbirth classes. That should be interesting.....

Ugh, I thought this would be a fun part. We have decided we are going to register at Babies R Us, and there is soooooo much to get. And NOTHING is cheap. It is slightly overwhelming. We are going to have to wait on a lot of stuff until we know the sex, but we have gotten started based on recommendations from friends with kids, as well as the "must haves" list from my Doctor and the Babies R Us website. Baby's 1st Football Game is officially October 18,2009! Just because the baby is not born yet, doesn't mean it can't enjoy the game!!!!! After 18 weeks the baby can hear, and from what I have read after 20 weeks they can react. I will just have to keep my jumping up from excitement to a minimum, knowing the bills, this may not be an easy task.

I must say, however, I am slightly disappointed by the lack of maternity NFL gear.... all I could find was this lame tee shirt.....

I guess I will have to squeeze into one of my old tees....

18 Weeks!

Halfway there! The our little sweet potato baby is almost to the middle of the chart at the top of the page. I have to say that I am LOVING the 2nd trimester, and I get it now, I actually feel really good most of the time.

The only symptom that has stepped up it's game is the back pain. Pretty rough and really only when I spend a lot of time standing, but it really hurts at the very bottom of my back. It is almost a numb feeling, pretty painful, but luckily not too frequent. Plus, whenever it hurts, my amazing husband gives me lower back massages whenever I need it! I love him, and I can not wait until we get to see baby Schmieder again!

ANATOMY SCAN!!!!

YAY! We have officially scheduled the anatomy scan for October 6th at 10AM!!! That is two days earlier than what they originally told me!!! I know they are doing a full anatomy scan, but lets be real here... I want to know the gender, and this is the appointment I think I am going to find out!!! I can not wait, so exciting.....

17 Weeks

Already.....

So I have been feeling SOOOOOO much better, aside from the fact I get a nice rager of a headache every afternoon. The doctor thinks the headaches are either

1- hormones and will go way over the next few weeks

2- I need new glasses- pregnancy is making my eyes wacky, and I need a stronger prescription (i get them in the afternoon usually)

3- She is convinced I have T.M.J and that is contributing somewhat..... she said this can definitely effect the head, and because they are in the frontal lobe it is highly likely. ( All this from having a woman hold my face while I opened my jaw 4 times)

I think it is because at less than 1 month to 28 years old I am cutting a wisdom tooth in the back corner of my mouth and it is KILLING me! Needless to say diagnosing this could cost a pretty penny, so for now I have invested in a $7.99 in a bottle of tylenol.

Anywho- I am almost half way there, so I thought I would share not only the piece of produce that most accurately describes the baby, but an actual photo as well.... Enjoy :)
